Who we are
Hamilton Bradshaw Limited (“Hamilton Bradshaw”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal data processed through this website and in the course of our investment, lending and advisory activities. We are registered in England & Wales (company number 04646531) at 60 Grosvenor Street, London, W1K 3HZ.
Personal data we collect
- Contact and identity details you submit through our enquiry forms (name, email, telephone, company).
- Information contained in business plans, pitch decks, loan enquiries and other material you send us.
- Files and documents you upload with an enquiry, such as PDFs, Word documents, presentations or images.
- Due diligence, anti-money-laundering and know-your-client information where we enter a transaction.
- Technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected via cookies.
Enquiries and documents you send us
When you complete the Connect enquiry form, we collect the details you enter and any file you choose to upload. The file is stored in a private cloud storage bucket that is not accessible to the public. A secure, time-limited download link is included in the notification email sent to our investment team so they can review your documents.
We also save the enquiry record in our internal dashboard. This allows us to track, search and manage incoming opportunities even if an email is delayed or missed. Only authorised Hamilton Bradshaw team members can access these records and the linked documents.
By uploading a document, you confirm that you have the right to share it with us and that you consent to us processing it for the purpose of considering your enquiry. If the document contains personal data about other individuals (for example, co-founders or colleagues), you should ensure they are aware it has been shared.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- Legitimate interests: responding to enquiries, assessing opportunities, managing investments and running our business.
- Contract: negotiating and performing agreements with founders, borrowers, investors and suppliers.
- Legal obligation: anti-money-laundering, sanctions, tax, accounting and regulatory record-keeping.
- Consent: optional marketing communications and non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time.
Sharing your data
We may share personal data with group companies, portfolio companies where relevant to an introduction, professional advisers (legal, accounting, tax), due diligence and identity verification providers, IT and hosting suppliers, and regulators or law enforcement where required. Enquiry documents are only shared internally or with these approved parties as part of assessing your opportunity. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with appropriate supplementary safeguards.
Retention
We keep enquiry data and uploaded documents for up to 24 months where no relationship follows, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Transaction, investment and AML records are retained for a minimum of six years after the relationship ends, or longer where law requires. When the retention period ends, documents are securely deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights email info@hamiltonbradshaw.com. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113).
Security
We maintain technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls, encryption in transit, private storage for uploaded documents, and supplier due diligence. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed fully secure.
